Statement of Faith
The Basics
Jesus
It’s all about Jesus! Jesus is why we do what we do and it is in whom we have believed, not just what we have believed. We encourage personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Jesus is at the center of everything we do.
The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word and it applies to everyone for everything we need. We teach the whole Bible and endeavor to live life by what it says. We teach from the Bible as the authority and the road map for our lives.
Faith
We believe that faith is the starting point and that our salvation is by God’s loving grace and through faith in Jesus Christ. It is through faith alone, by grace alone, through Christ alone that we have access to the abundant and eternal life that God desires to give us.
Core Beliefs
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is God’s Word and that it is authoritative, accurate, and applicable to life. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and is infallible and free from error. 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16.
JESUS
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Matthew 1:21; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18.
We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples. Romans 4:25; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8.
We believe that Jesus ascended into Heaven, His exaltation, and that He will come to earth again for His Church. Matthew 24; Mark 16:19; John 14:2-3; Acts 1:9-11 Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Hebrews 9:28.
THE TRINITY
God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity and is the Creator. He exists as One God in Three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:4.
MAN AND SALVATION
We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; man’s total spiritual depravity and inability to achieve divine righteousness. Romans 5:12,18.
We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of Jesus on the cross by which we have atonement for sin. Romans 5:11; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12,22.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells all believers and that through the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct aspect of the Christian experience with the primary evidence of speaking in tongues the believer has the power to be a witness for Jesus, to conquer sin and to live a holy life. Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 19:6.
We believe in a Spirit-filled life and the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit outlined in the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12, 2 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1; Galatians 5:16-26; Ephesians 5:18.
WATER BAPTISM
We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in order to fulfill the command of Christ. Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38-39; 19:1-6.
HEALING
We believe in the healing of the body by God’s Power, or God’s healing. Matthew 4:23; James 5:14-15; 1 Corinthians 12:9; Isaiah 53:5.
COMMUNION
We believe in the Table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord’s Supper, for believers. 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 1 Corinthians 11:17-27; Luke 22:14-22.
Heaven and Hell
We believe in eternal life for believers and eternal punishment for unbelievers. John 3:16; 5:24; Matthew 25:31-46; Luke 12:5; 1 Peter 1:3-4.
We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and eternal judgment of Satan and his angels. Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:7-10.
The Church
We believe in the power and significance of the Church as the bride and body of Christ. It is necessary for believers to meet regularly together for teaching, for fellowship, for prayer and the ‘breaking of bread’. Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:25.
The church of Jesus Christ is the last instrument that God is using to extend His kingdom prior to the second coming of Christ. Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:20-23; 3:10.
